Hailed for bringing “a vintage sound refreshingly up to date” by indie promoter This Feeling, singer-songwriter Cian Downing is emerging onto the British guitar music scene with his infectious energy and melodic tunes. After revisiting songwriting during national covid restrictions whilst at university in East London, Cian soon rediscovered his knack for turning Paul Weller and Billy Bragg-esque guitar riffs into full-band anthems. Combined with the insightful social commentary and personal reflections in his lyrics, he realised he was onto a winner. The troops were rallied, a backing band was assembled, and as soon as restrictions were eased Cian hurried into the studio to record his debut EP English Summers. This was followed up by the release of 'The Northside', Cian's second EP, in April 2023, featuring the singles 'I'll Always Keep' and live set closer 'Don't Go Away.'
